DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY
Day 01 – Arrival in Jaisalmer | Golden Fort & City Sightseeing
- Arrive at Jaisalmer Railway Station or Bus Stand — private cab transfer to your hotel
- Check-in, freshen up, and begin sightseeing by 10:00 AM
- Jaisalmer Golden Fort (Sonar Quila) — India’s only living fort, home to thousands of residents, ancient Jain temples, royal palaces, and historic cannons; spend at least 2 hours exploring inside
- Patwon Ki Haveli — the grandest haveli in Jaisalmer, with stunning carved sandstone facades and 5 interconnected mansions
- Nathmal Ki Haveli — an architectural masterpiece built by two brothers who each carved one half of the facade
- Vyas Chhatri — elevated cenotaphs with a panoramic view of the Golden City, ideal for family photos
- Mandir Palace (Jaisalmer Palace) — centuries-old royal residence with beautifully decorated interiors
- Jaisalmer War Museum — one of the most exciting stops for families, especially children; showcases the true story of the 1971 Battle of Longewala where 120 Indian soldiers defeated 2,000 Pakistani troops and 50 tanks (the movie Border is based on this battle)

Day 02 – Sam Sand Dunes | Safari, Cultural Night & Desert Camp

- Morning visit to Bada Bagh — the royal cenotaphs of the Bhati Maharajas, surrounded by wind mills and golden dunes; a peaceful and historically rich spot
- Government Museum visit — a quick but interesting stop covering Jaisalmer’s desert heritage and folk culture
- After lunch, depart for Sam Sand Dunes (45 km from Jaisalmer) via Kuldhara Village — a famously abandoned and reportedly haunted village deserted overnight in the 19th century; a fascinating detour for curious minds of all ages
- Arrive at Sam Sand Dunes by 4:30 PM — check in to your Swiss Tent at Shrinath Desert Camp
- Jeep Safari — a high-energy, family-favourite ride across the rippling golden dunes lasting about 90 minutes
- Camel Safari — ride your camel up to a towering sand dune and watch a spectacular Thar Desert sunset together as a family; walk back across the warm sand to your tent

- Tanot Mata Temple — a deeply spiritual and historically significant temple on the Indo-Pak border, worshipped by the BSF for decades; the temple miraculously survived hundreds of Pakistani bombs during the 1971 war, many of which are displayed outside as offerings
- En route, experience the real Thar Desert — vast stretches of sand, small desert villages, traditional homes, windmills, and a way of life unchanged for centuries
- Longewala Border — the actual battlefield of the 1971 war; see real war tanks, bunkers, and a documentary on the brave soldiers who defended this post (same battle on which the movie Border is based)
- Return to Jaisalmer by evening
